A new pilot program in Seattle, Washington tracks whale sightings and gives near real-time data to hundreds of thousands of vessels in the Salish Sea. NBC News’ Anne Thompson goes behind the scenes with the U.S. Coast Guard as they patrol and work to mitigate vessel collisions with whales.
