WEB EDITORS FOR SOUTHASIA

As a south asia's leading e-magazine with significant volume of visits to its website www.hyderabadnews.net, Hyderabad News Network is looking for Web Editors. We seek a techno-savvy, editorially competent professionals with a discerning eye for visual and graphic content and excellent command of English. The candidates must have an understanding of the specific needs of developing a high-traffic portal that seeks to increase communication and understanding across the region of Southasia.
The responsibilities of the Web Editors include making the website vibrant and interactive through updates and additional features including discussion boards, locating web-only contributors, and creating a significant network of referential links both within the decade-old archive and between HNN and other regional references. Additional responsibilities will include both direct and broad-based distribution and marketing of HNN’s new and archived digital content, creating an additional one-stop reference base for Southasia-wide issues, and organising HNN’s digital archive to make it accessible and user-friendly. The Web Editors must have a general understanding of political, economic and cultural issues related to the Southasian region and a willingness to learn more of the same. The job will require close coordination with the editorial team of HNN.
Work experience: Substantial technical and editorial experience with user-created web-based content, preferably with a news or related organisation. Journalism experience – writing and/or editing – will be an asset.
Location: The Web Editors can be located anywhere in Southasia, although added consideration will be given to applicants living in or willing to relocate to South India. To start with, this will be a part-time position, with salary commensurate with skill, experience and interest.
